Laser Key Projection Keyboard

As one of the world’s first patented laser projection keyboard (U.S. Patent
Nos. 6,614,422, 6,710,770, EUROPE publications: EP 1356664, EP 1336172, EP
1332488, EP1218692), the Laserkey CL800BT Smart Version has revolutionized
mobile data input. For the first time ever, users can enter SMS messages,
emails and texts just as easily on the go as when using a conventional
keyboard.
By means of a laser, the Laserkey CL800BT projects a full-scale keyboard
equipped with a mouse feature* onto any opaque, flat surface. The keystrokes
are then identified based on the combined input of a sensor and an invisible
infrared layer. The connection to PDA, Pocket PC, Smart Phone or PC is set up
via a user-friendly Bluetooth hot plug function or via the serial port. The
pocket-sized CL800BT is powered by a compact, powerful Lithium-Ion battery.
Three dimensional, visual recognition technology

The projection laser displays the keyboard layout, measuring approx. 241 x 106
mm, onto any opaque flat surface. Keystrokes are recognized and then relayed
via an invisible infrared layer combined with an optical sensor. The
recognition process works as follows: When the user presses a key on the
projected keyboard, the infrared layer is interrupted. This produces UV
reflections that are recognized by the sensor in three dimensions, allowing the
system to assign a coordinate (keyboard character).

The perfect solution for applications
For the first time, users can now enter SMS messages, emails and texts just as
easily on the go as when using a conventional keyboard.
The results are more profitability and increased efficiency for mobile users.
However, the Laserkey is much more than just a mobile keyboard. The Celluon
Laserkey can provide an excellent service in all environments requiring a high
level of hygiene or where dirt, dust or mechanical strain make the use of an
ordinary keyboard not viable.

The keyboard layout
Keyboard
ergonomics nearly correspond to those of a conventional computer keyboard with
a key pitch of 17 mm. After a short training phase, users can fully enjoy the
complete ease and the many advantages that the Celluon Laserkey has to offer.
Keyboard layout depends on the country or the language selected and is supported
by a broad array of international characters and symbols.

Layout follows the English QWERTY design and supports multiple international
symbols. For example: Á, É, Í, Ó, Ú, Ý, á, é, í, ó, ú, ý, Â, Ê, Î, Ô, Û, â, ê,
î, ô, û, Ä, Ë, Ï, Ö, Ü, Ÿ, ä, ë, ï, ö ü, ÿ, À, È, Ì, Ò, Ù, à, è, ì, ò, ù, Ã, Õ,
Ñ, ã, õ, ñ, Å, å, Ç, ç, Ø, ø, Æ, Œ, æ, œ, µ, ß, ©, ¿, §, ™, , ±, ®, €, ¥, ¢, £.
Furthermore, the system comes with an integrated touchpad (mouse function)
measuring 241 x 106 mm, which incorporates this function depending on the
operating system.

Connection to the mobile world
The Laserkey can be connected to mobile devices via a Bluetooth interface or to
a PC with Windows 2000 or XP (09/2005) via an optional serial cable. All
current Bluetooth stacks and protocols are supported.
You will find the first compatibility list under technical specifications or as
PDF under the driver section.
The lithium-ion battery ensures approx. 3.5 hours of continuous usage. Given
average keyboard usage, this easily amounts to two working days. The Bluetooth
interface is switched off when using the serial cable in order to meet the
requirements of biotech companies, hospitals or other environments sensitive to
radio frequencies.
